Vibe: Coastal, Casual, Romantic, Carefree
Amanda and Kenny’s coastal wedding features seer sucker and khaki suits, lots of succulents, and two dogs of honor draped in white ranunculas and spray roses. The location is the family’s residence, located on the gorgeous Isle of Hope. Also, the wedding was a surprise to the guests! These factors brought a sense of carefree festivity and laid-back comfort to the whole affair. Still, there are traditional elements – the brides formal gown as well as the dreamy white and pink color scheme. And while too much glitz and glamour would overwhelm the laid-back, coastal vibe, A&K find the perfect balance. Small moments of glitter and shimmer add a subtle enchantment to their otherwise no cares in the world family beach day wedding.
Amanda’s bouquet, and the flowers in general, strike a beautiful balance between traditional romantic and beach casual. A large part of this is the use of succulents. Increasing in popularity but still non-traditional, succulents offer a fresh alternative to traditional flowers. They are low maintenance and sturdy where typical flowers are delicate. Still, they offer a cheery, full bloom effect. Mixing these coastal plants with traditional flowers allows for bright bouquets that are perky yet laid-back, refined yet robust. If the vibe of succulents were translated into a wedding, it’d probably look something like this one.
